Quotidian Moments
The following is an abridged version of the artist statement for Quotidian Moments. This is an ongoing collaborative project between Anna Zusman and Rhaelene Lowther. For the full artist statement, go to the link for this project at the end of this statement.
Anna Zusman and Rhaelene Lowther live in rural Arkansas and teach art at Southern Arkansas University. They regularly go on walks together and became interested in transformation and change including changes of weather, light, how seasons affected the landscape and lifecycles of animals. They were also very interested how they saw the same things on their walks but they interpreted them very differently.
For their series Quotidian Moments through Different Lenses they create separate artworks based on things that they see on their walks; interpreting the same experience in nature in different conceptual and stylistic ways.
